GPS clock-in

Proof the visit happened, without the paper

Every site gets its own geofence. Clock-in records a single location fix and stamps the distance from the door; an out-of-range tap goes to a manager for approval. It’s validated on the server — it can’t be faked from the phone.

Validated where it counts

The check runs on the server, not the phone

Rostera measures the distance between the carer and the visit address using the Haversine formula on the server. If it’s outside the site’s radius, the clock-in is held for manager approval — so a distance stamp is real evidence, not a self-report.

  • Per-site geofence radius you control (150 m default)
  • Out-of-range clock-outs queue in Pending Approvals
  • Late clock-outs flagged for review, on a grace period you set
  • The exact distance is recorded on every in and out

Proportionate by design

One fix per event — never a tracker

You’re confirming a visit happened, not following staff around. Rostera takes a single location reading at clock-in and clock-out and nothing in between. That’s the line that keeps it lawful and keeps carers on side.

  • No background or between-visit location collection
  • A clear line for your staff privacy notice
  • Legacy visits fall back to the branch geofence
  • Every event timestamped to Europe/London

What it gives you

Attendance you can stand behind

Geofenced visits

Each home or scheme has its own coordinates and radius — clock-in checks against the visit, not a shared office.

Manager approvals

Anything out of range or overrunning queues for a manager, so exceptions are reviewed not buried.

Real timesheets

Clock data feeds straight into timesheets and payroll — the hours paid are the hours worked.

Evidence every visit from day one

14 days, no card — set your first geofence in minutes.
